Kikkoman factory visit

Once you get into Noda City in Chiba, you will smell " Soy Sauce". Kyoko, Hannah and Kent went to visit Soy Sauce Factory.  We watched the video which explian how to make the Kikkoman Soy Soauce.  Sadly during the tour we could not take any pictures. Also some part of factory view was closed due to the construction.

However, Hannah wants to use this visit for her Saturday Japanese school homework. She wants to explain all about the Soy Sausce!!!  During the tour Hannah and I talked about how to and how much she wants to present Soy Sause infomation. Here is very basic ide of the soy sause . Soy sause is made from three thigns: soy beans,salt and wheat. Plus the most imporatnt item : " Special Kikkoman bacteria.  Let the whole mess ist around for 6 months or so. then squueeze it in a big compressor and out flows the sauce!


After visiting at the small cafe you can sample a variety of soy sause types with free tofu.
We didn't try it though  you can try Soy Sauce ice cream. I wonder what is taste like.
One of my Memorial High School student tasted  the Japanese creckers with  Kikkoman soy sauce on.  We had a great learning time !
